Compensation and Benefits Manager (LA)
LOCATION: Rubicon Project HQ (West LA)
The Rubicon Project is looking for an experienced Compensation and Benefits Manager who will be the primary employee payroll and benefits interface for our 200 US based employees. This position will also be responsible for the development of our HRIS reporting and analysis capabilities.

This position is part of a creative People & Culture team responsible for the creation and maintenance of our unique culture. This opportunity reports directly to the Senior Vice President of People & Culture.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all daily production processes and issues related to payroll and benefits
- Project Manager for our employee benefits portal (Plan Source) will oversee continued system integration, process improvements and upgrades.
- Manages the daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll and benefit system processes and operations (Paylocity).
- Responsible for delivering timely accurate reporting analysis, audits/validations.
- Manages all outbound and inbound interfaces with outside vendors (medical, dental, vision, payroll, 401K, COBRA)
- Process all time and attendance administration, pay adjustments, PTO and OT time entry for payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit off-cycle check requests
- Complete and file unemployment compensation information requests
- Maintain and update automated stock option system for monitoring and maintaining stock option grants
- Responsible for all new hire setup and internal org changes related to payroll and benefits
- Maintenance of benefit programs with frequent updates to the SVP of People & Culture
- Administration of paid time-off, and leaves of absence.
- 401K administration
- Ability to answer benefits and payroll questions for all employees in all locations
- Respond to requests for employment verifications
- Subject matter expert for other projects that impact payroll and benefits
- Answer and interpret questions related to company policy and procedures and ensures consistent application. Appropriately escalate inquiries to the Director or SVP, People & Culture
- Conduct market research and manage reports and tools to ensure competitive pay
- Provide recommendations for compensation reviews, implement and maintain compensation tools
- Participate in and use market compensation surveys for market research
- Obsess over the accuracy and organization of employee master records and master file data
Job Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of solid functional and technical experience using Payroll, HR & Benefits systems and related interfaces
- Strong general knowledge of payroll, benefit, and HR processes
- Strong data analysis skills and experience utilizing Excel
- Strong business process design skills along with systems implementation and support experience
- Bachelors degree or military experience preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable State and Federal wage and hour laws.
- Experience with an outside payroll vendor is a plus
